Yohann shared with us last week his desire to fully affirm himself as a woman.
He has therefore undertaken an MtF gender transition.
Paloma, his partner, decided to give him her full support in this stage which she fully embraces.

We have been together since April 2019.
We met while we were both each in relationships with other people.
At first, nothing happened between us, but after 3 days of talking, we decided to leave our respective partners and start an adventure together.
We were separated for a few weeks because he went back to his ex-partner who was giving birth to their first child.
Ultimately, he backtracked.
Choosing to continue with me, he decided to confess everything he carried inside and to hide nothing from me.
And this conversation took place in August 2019.
He had never spoken about it to anyone before.
I didn’t suspect it, but deep down I knew he had something unique, something different.
At first, he told me about his female alter ego that resonated within him, about his desire to dress as a woman…
It was by taking the time to talk about it and explore this path that we “found the solution” together.
I have no discomfort about this subject; it doesn’t bother me at all as long as we share it together.
On the other hand, I would never have forgiven him for having a double life behind my back and doing all this in secret.
I would have experienced it as a betrayal.
I support him as best as I can by trying to have a caring external perspective.
My role is to make sure he doesn’t rush the steps and that he takes the time to change gently, to accept himself, and to evolve in his new physical appearance with all the consequences that implies.
An MtF gender transition inevitably comes with significant changes in life, for him and for us more broadly.
However, for me, he remains the same person!
