I often see it when you come to the studio. Some arrive with their clothes. Others bring their shoes. More rarely, you remember to take your wig or your makeup kit. However, coming with a handbag remains much rarer.

And yet, it’s such a feminine element.

When we talk about femininity, we often think of makeup, wigs, clothes, or lingerie. Yet, an accessory can transform a look in an instant: the handbag.

The handbag is part of those details

Well chosen, it doesn’t just complete an outfit. It gives it style, elegance, and personality.

It’s not only there to carry your things. It contributes to your style, accompanies your silhouette, and can make your look more feminine, softer, or more assertive.

So today, I want to talk to you about this accessory simply. How to choose it? What size to take? What shape to prioritize? And above all, how to find a bag that truly resembles you?

The structured bag for a chic look

The structured bag is a classic for feminizing a silhouette with elegance. With its clean, refined lines, it immediately brings a more sophisticated look.

It works very well with a dress, an elegant coat, a blazer, or a dressed-up look. It’s also a good choice if you want to bring more structure to your silhouette.

Camel, black, or beige remain safe bets. Black gives a chic edge. Camel softens the whole. Beige adds more light.

As for burgundy, it adds a feminine touch without being too flashy.

This kind of bag gives a neat impression, without necessarily overdoing it.

Soft bags for a gentler femininity

On the contrary, soft bags bring a more natural and fluid impression. They follow movement and visually soften the silhouette.

A bucket bag, a soft tote, or a slightly rounded model can be a beautiful option for a feminine but casual style.

Materials like soft leather or suede reinforce this effect. They give less rigidity, more softness, and sometimes a more sensual side to the outfit.

Be careful not to choose a bag that’s too big or too floppy. Otherwise, it can quickly lose its elegance.

To keep a pretty look, the right soft bag must remain feminine, harmonious, and easy to wear.

The tote bag for practicality

The tote is very useful. It allows you to carry more things and can reassure you when you like to have everything with you.

Phone, keys, papers, makeup, mirror, tissues… in the end, you quickly need space.

By the way, we’ll soon talk about what you can put in a handbag. It’s a real topic.

However, the tote must be well chosen. If it’s too big, it can weigh down the silhouette. And if it doesn’t have enough shape, it can look too much like a “catch-all.”

I therefore advise you to choose a medium-sized tote, in a nice material, with a fairly clean line. That way, it remains practical but also feminine.

The size of the bag really matters

A bag that’s too small can look disproportionate, while an oversized model can weigh down the silhouette.

That’s why the size of the bag must match your proportions. On a tall silhouette or with a broad frame, a very small bag can seem lost. Conversely, a huge model can overwhelm a finer or smaller silhouette.

The medium size often remains the most flattering. It’s elegant, practical, easy to wear, and doesn’t dominate the outfit.

Basically, the right bag should accompany your silhouette, not steal the spotlight.

Color changes the look

Black remains timeless, but it’s not the only elegant choice.

Camel, beige, chocolate, burgundy, or navy blue are also very easy to wear. These colors vary a bit from black while remaining refined.

A colorful bag can brighten up an outfit and assert your style subtly. A well-chosen red gives energy. A dark green can bring an original touch without being too flashy.

If you’re not comfortable yet, start with a soft, easy color. Then, you can dare more.

The most important thing: choose a bag that looks like you

The perfect bag is not necessarily the trendiest. It’s the one that gives you confidence, naturally completes your outfit, and in which you feel feminine and elegant.

Some will prefer a discreet bag. Others will prefer a more visible, more feminine, more assumptive model. Both are perfectly fine.

There’s no single way to be feminine. There’s your own way.

Because ultimately, style is not only about clothes. It’s also about the vibe you give off.

And that’s the femininity you should focus on.

Need help finding your style?

Choosing a bag may seem like a small detail. Yet, in a silhouette, details often make all the difference.

A poorly chosen bag can unbalance an outfit. Conversely, a well-chosen bag can bring softness, elegance, and lots of femininity.
