My blog celebrates every step of your journey toward self-expression within the Transgender community.
Since 2019, this space has been dedicated to everyone, offering a unique place of expression for all trans people (mtf), those in transition, or anyone who simply enjoys crossdressing.
Besides numerous testimonials, we have already explored diverse inspiring stories like Claude at prestigious outings at the Opera, as well as Sabine who tested a tucking solution with Effeuillantine, or July’s first public outing at Charly’s dinner.
I have even addressed your hair concerns for your passing (Feminization: tame hair with 7 methods).
Today, I share Julia’s experience with laser treatment for beard hair removal, a crucial aspect of feminization.
To learn more about her challenges and successes, I invite you to dive into her full testimony.

When Julia was born, or rather came out to the world, two years ago now, I quickly became obsessed with the idea of being a woman among women.
With this in mind, my main challenges were wearing feminine clothes, feminizing my voice and face, whether through makeup or hair removal.
It’s this perfectionist side and concern for passing that pushed me, right from the start, to acquire a complete wardrobe of an elegant woman, to learn makeup, work on my voice, and deal with those horrible black hairs on my face.
Regarding the first point, I’m quite proud because today I own all the basics and the extras of a good Parisian woman.
Feminizing the voice is a project of another magnitude. I’ll come back to that another time.
In parallel, I quickly progressed in makeup techniques thanks to the support and insightful advice of Jennifer.
That said, I was still bothered by the amount of beard cover and foundation I had to apply to mask my facial hair.
That’s why, a year ago already, I decided to have my beard permanently removed.
After consulting the Fransgenre directory of “transfriendly” health professionals, I chose laser technology and Absolu Santé Laser center (given for information only, this is in no way a commercial collaboration or recommendation from Transbeauté), run by Dr. Boutboul, on Victor Hugo street in Paris 16.
The reasons for my choice: a well-known and appreciated center within the Trans community and unbeatable rates (€55 per session for the entire face).
You should know that laser only works well on black hairs.
If your beard is white, you will then need to turn to electrolysis instead.
I was lucky to have a salt-and-pepper beard.. So laser was well suited.
The good surprise is that the laser hair removal session is very short, only a few minutes for the entire face.
The bad news is that it hurts very, very much (do you have to suffer to be beautiful?), especially around the mouth and particularly on the mustache, which is, moreover, the most complicated and longest area to remove.
It is therefore advisable to use a numbing cream (like EMLA). At least an hour before the session, you must cover the area to be treated with a thick layer (I use 3 tubes…) and make sure it soaks in well.
For this, it is recommended to cover the face with well-stretched plastic wrap. I do this at home before leaving and camouflage myself with a mask and scarf during the trip; guaranteed success in the metro…
But the result is there.
After only 2-3 sessions, I noticed a noticeable difference. After 5-6 sessions, I was able to stop using beard cover and orange-toned foundations.
Today, after 10 sessions, I almost only have white hairs left. Unfortunately, a few black hairs still resist around the mouth, especially just under the nose.
I think I will get rid of them after another 3-4 sessions. I should then remove the remaining white hairs by electrolysis.
I admit I’m a little anxious because this technique is longer (hairs are treated one by one) and more painful than laser.
The treatment may seem long, but the fact that I’m not on hormones slows things down a bit.
It’s also sometimes discouraging because the laser treatment makes black hairs reappear for a few days before they fall out naturally.
So it’s long and painful, but what a pleasure today to be able to wear “light” makeup with just a dab of foundation. Even better, no longer having to use beard cover that always ends up cracking.
Even though I still have to shave the white hairs, I no longer have that unsightly blue shadow. It makes a real difference in the confidence I have in my passing!
A huge thank you to Julia for your testimony.
Stories like Julia’s only strengthen my commitment to offer a space where everyone can explore and affirm their identity authentically and respectfully.
