There are moments when you feel that something deep is happening.
When Marie arrived at the studio, I immediately understood that she wasn’t just coming for makeup or a pretty photo.

That day, it was no longer just a beauty session.
It was a birth, the meeting between Marie and the woman she had been carrying inside for a long time.

Hello, my name is Marie.
Luckily, the name is on my identity card. I’m 63 years old, divorced, and father of two grown children.
I’m semi-retired after a career as a saleswoman in advertising and as a shopkeeper.
I live in the north of Seine-et-Marne.
Already as a teenager, I liked wearing stockings and feminine underwear.
It must be said that my mother, after having four boys, wished for a girl.
Unconsciously, no doubt, this shaped my personality.
Later, in my life as a young man, with women, friendship often slipped into the friend zone.
I went from being a suitor to a good friend, even a confidante.
They probably sensed this sensitivity in me.
The desire to be Marie is constant.
But I’m aware that, even though I live alone, fully living it would imply a radical change: moving, a new social life, and above all sorting through my friends and family.
The decision would probably be easier with support by my side.
It wasn’t until after my divorce that I really started building my wardrobe, doing makeup, and timidly being active on social media.
I quickly understood that a pair of tights and a wig were not enough to satisfy my quest for perfection.
The path is long, but rewarding.
Already, living as a woman simplifies daily life tremendously: more closet space, no more worrying about leftover makeup stains…
But more seriously, it means ending duality.
It’s a feeling of freedom, well-being, and a desire for seduction.
It’s not so much family that troubles me.
I’m past the age of acting according to what is expected of me.
I know I will lose some friendships and make new ones.
However, the gaze of neighbors and, more broadly, my social environment petrifies me.
Not to mention hateful attacks from narrow-minded people.
I would really like to go out on the street and go shopping with girls. To try on shoes, dresses… To be done with online orders and managing returns.
I came across Transbeauté’s Facebook page by chance this winter, after an online search for providers welcoming our cause.
Right away, I subscribed with the firm intention to progress in my journey.
Given the result, it’s clear: I crossed a milestone.
As much as I have always been aware that physically my feminine side is credible, I’ve never been comfortable with my smile.
Thank you to Jennifer for insisting – she is really persistent! It changes everything. I am more natural and relaxed.
To quote Matthieu Ricard: “The smile is the door of the heart opening to others.”
Overall, it was a magical afternoon thanks to the kindness and talent of the artist.
That day, Marie was finally born.
A real heartbreak to have to remove my makeup at the end of the session.
Seeing Marie leave with a smile on her lips and shining eyes is exactly what motivates me every day.
