The day after Transgender Visibility Day, which we shared yesterday, I bring you this news:
“The European Central Bank (ECB) announced today that it will launch a limited series of new 10 euro, 20 euro, 50 euro, 100 euro banknotes, featuring the colors of the transgender community.
This initiative aims to celebrate diversity and inclusion and to raise public awareness about the challenges transgender people face in their daily lives. The banknotes will be in pink and blue, symbolizing the colors of the transgender community.
According to ECB officials, this decision reflects the institution’s commitment to support diversity and inclusion in all areas of society.
This news has been positively received by many transgender rights organizations, who hailed this initiative as a sign of hope and progress for the community. The ECB plans to circulate this new banknote starting April 1, 2023, a date that coincides with the day after International Transgender Visibility Day.
For transgender people, this news is an encouraging sign that society is beginning to understand the challenges they face and to support them in their quest for recognition and dignity.
